YOUNG & SHORT - Il Regolamento 2021


Il concorso per cortometraggi realzzati da autori under 30. Scadenza del bando 30 giugno 2021


Articolo 1 – Premesse ed obiettivi
YOUNG & SHORT č il premio cinematografico istituito da Save The Cut, casa di produzione cinematografica fondata nel 2013, nell’ambito del progetto culturale di promozione e diffusione del cinema indipendente con il brand registrato Son of a Pitch.
YOUNG & SHORT č rivolto a tutti i cortometraggi realizzati a partire dal mese di maggio 2020 entro il 31 maggio 2021 sui temi della sostenibilitŕ. Il focus tematico č lo sviluppo sostenibile, con particolare attenzione agli obiettivi prefissati dall’ONU per il 2030: saranno accolti tutti i cortometraggi che sapranno mettere al centro le tematiche legate ad almeno uno dei 17 “Sustainable Development Goals” dell’ONU.
L’obiettivo č quello di trasferire nel mondo della narrazione cinematografica una visione personale e critica del tema, con particolare attenzione alle declinazioni economiche, ambientali e sociali.
Il punto di vista dei giovani risulta in tal senso particolarmente rilevante non soltanto per la loro propensione alla sperimentazione e ai linguaggi innovativi, ma anche per la capacitŕ di una lettura genuina, soggettiva e prospettica che hanno nei confronti della societŕ.
Art. 2 – Condizioni dell’iscrizione
Verranno tenute in considerazione unicamente le opere che rispettino le seguenti condizioni:
• Le opere devono trattare temi relativi alla sostenibilitŕ e ad almeno uno dei 17 SDGs (https://sdgs.un.org/goals), in modo diretto o indiretto. In fase di iscrizione del cortometraggio l’autore dovrŕ inserire una breve spiegazione sull’attinenza del proprio cortometraggio rispetto al tema della sostenibilitŕ;
• Il modulo d’iscrizione, reperibile sul sito www.sonofapitch.com nella sezione relativa al premio, deve essere composto in tutte le sue parti e spedito all’indirizzo mail [email protected] entro e non oltre la mezzanotte del 30 giugno 2021.
• Le opere vanno iscritte, gratuitamente, al link https://filmfreeway.com/PremioYOUNGandSHORT?pending=true dalla mezzanotte del 25 maggio 2021 ed entro la mezzanotte del 30 giugno 2021. Dopo quella data tutte le opere pervenute non saranno accettate;
• Se l’opera č in una lingua diversa dall’italiano, deve essere dotata di sottotitoli integrali, giŕ stampati nel video, in lingua inglese.
• I registi delle opere devono essere nati entro il 31 dicembre 1991;
• La durata massima dell’opera č di 15 minuti compresi i titoli di coda;
• Sono ammessi cortometraggi realizzati in live action, animation e qualsiasi altra forma o genere di linguaggio audiovisivo;
• Le opere devono essere state prodotte tra maggio 2020 e maggio 2021;
• Le opere devono essere inedite, dunque non devono essere disponibili per intero pubblicamente e online.
Art. 3 – Premiazione ed entitŕ dei premi
Tutti i premi consisteranno in una targa di merito. L’autore del miglior cortometraggio beneficerŕ anche di un premio ulteriore in denaro per la produzione del suo prossimo cortometraggio, erogato dalla casa di produzione Save the Cut.

Dal 1 al 10 settembre 2021 i vincitori di YOUNG & SHORT potranno partecipare alla premiazione che avverrŕ durante la Mostra Internazionale d’arte cinematografica di Venezia 2021 presso l’Hotel Excelsior del Lido di Venezia.
Art. 4 – Giuria di preselezione
Tutte le opere saranno visionate da una giuria composta da un delegato di Save The Cut, Emanuela Genovese, un delegato di cinemaitaliano.info, Stefano Amadio, da un giornalista e scrittore Andrea Corrado e da una producer e story editor Valentina Pozzoli.
Art. 5 – Selezione e premiazione
Il 15 luglio 2021 sarŕ comunicata la selezione ufficiale dei 20 finalisti del premio.
La giuria ufficiale comunicherŕ la shortlist (tre finalisti per premio) la mattina del venerdě 31 luglio 2021. Il
10 agosto i vincitori saranno contattati e firmeranno un documento di embargo: i vincitori infatti saranno annunciati durante il Festival di Venezia.
Art. 6 – Materiale destinato alla promozione
Č obbligatorio per i film vincitori di YOUNG & SHORT esporre il logo del premio secondo la grafica ufficiale predisposta e fornita da Save The Cut,nei materiali promozionali che verranno pubblicati in seguito alla premiazione (locandina, trailer ecc.).
Art. 7 – Norme Generali
Il giudizio delle giurie di preselezione e selezione č insindacabile. L’iscrizione alle selezioni e la partecipazione a YOUNG & SHORT implicano la piena accettazione di ogni articolo di questo regolamento.

ENGLISH VERSION

Article 1 – Preamble and goals
YOUNG & SHORT is a film award established by Save The Cut, a film production company founded in 2013, as part of the cultural project of promotion and circulation of independent cinema under the brand Son of a Pitch.
YOUNG & SHORT is open to all short films made from May 2020 until May 31, 2021 on the themes of sustainability. The thematic focus is on sustainability with particular attention to the goals set by the UN for 2030: therefore, every short film that will focus on issues related to at least one of the 17 "Sustainable Development Goals" of the UN will be accepted.
The goal is to transfer into the world of film narration a personal and critical vision of the theme, with particular attention to the economic, environmental and social aspects.
The point of view of young people is particularly relevant in this sense, not only for their propensity to experiment and create innovative languages, but also for their ability to have a genuine, subjective and perspective reading of society.
Article 2 – Entry conditions and deadlines Only works that meet the following conditions will be considered:
• Shorts must deal with issues regarding sustainability and at least one of the 17 SDGs (https://sdgs.un.org/goals), either directly or indirectly. When submitting the short film, the author must include a brief description of the relevance of their short film to the theme of sustainability;
• The application form, which can be found on the website www.sonofapitch.com in the section related to the award, must be filled in all its parts and sent to the email address [email protected] no later than midnight on June 30th, 2021;
• Works must be submitted, free of charge, to https://filmfreeway.com/PremioYOUNGandSHORT?pending=true from midnight on May 25st, 2021 and no later than midnight on June 30th, 2021. After that date no submissions will be accepted;
• If the work is in a language different from Italian, it must have integral english subtitles, already printed on the video;


Directors must have been born no later than December 31st, 1991; The maximum length of the work is 15 minutes including credits;
• language;
All kind of short films are allowed: in live action, animation and any other form or genre of audiovisual
• Works must have been produced between May 2020 and May 2021;
• Works must be inedited, so they must not be available in their entirety publicly and online.
Article 3 – Awards
All awards will consist of a plaque of merit. The author of the best short film will also benefit of an additional cash prize for the production of his next short film, provided by the production company Save the Cut.
Below all 6 award categories:

3. YOUNG & SHORT – Best Female Talent Award
4. YOUNG & SHORT – “Short in the drawer” Award, for the best short film without official distribution 5. YOUNG & SHORT - Audience Award, awarded by a jury of Film School students
6. MULTICULTURAL YOUNG & SHORT - Prize for the most multicultural short film, awarded by Casa di Giorgia
From September 1 to 10, 2021, the YOUNG & SHORT winners will be able to attend the awards ceremony that will take place during the Venice International Film Festival 2021 at the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido.
Article 4 – Preselection Jury
All works will be viewed by a jury composed by a delegate of Save The Cut, Emanuela Genovese, a delegate of cinemaitaliano.info, Stefano Amadio, journalist and writer Andrea Corrado and producer and story editor Valentina Pozzoli.
Article 5 – Selection and award ceremony
The official selection of the 20 award finalists will be announced on July 15th, 2021.
The official jury will announce the shortlist (three finalists per prize) on the morning of Friday, July 31st, 2021. On August 10th, the winners will be contacted and sign an embargo document: in fact, the winners will be announced during the Venice Film Festival.
Article 6 – Prizewinners
YOUNG & SHORT winning films undertake to display in their publicity and advertising materials (playbill, trailers, posters, website, etc.), of the award logo that will be provided by Save The Cut.
Article 7 – General Norms
The judgment of the pre-selection and selection juries is final.
Registration for the selections and participation in YOUNG & SHORT imply acceptance of all the aforementioned regulations and respect of Preselection conditions.
